Pickleball is more than just a "converted tennis court" at Connestee Falls. The community features a full Pickleball Facility. The quick transition from portable nets on the tennis court to a dedicated facility is a testament to the CFPOA ability to react and adapt to resident interests at Connestee Falls.
The pickleball program was started in the spring of 2011 and quickly began attracting a large number of residents who regularly play America's fastest growing sport. Prior to the construction of the new pickleball center, games were played using four portable nets on a tennis court. In September of 2011, Connestee interest and enthusiasm peaked when the community held a pickleball tournament to support the Connestee Scholarship Fund. The event was a smashing success and entrants came from as far away as Waynesville to participate.
As popularity continued to grow, and plans for future tournaments were envisioned by the
Pickleball Committee, it was necessary to find a place for dedicated courts to meet the demand. In May of 2012, Connestee opened a new four-court pickleball complex located next to the heated pool.
The Connestee pickleball program is now as dynamic as golf and tennis, offering:
Training programs for new players as well as experienced players
Open court time for players of all levels
A reservation sign up board for scheduling individual matches
And opportunities for regular social events and tournaments.
