When it comes to the seasonal changing of the guard, the first thing to look forward to is the spectacular turning of the leaves. And no where is this spectacle of nature better than with the foliage at Connestee Falls. This display of golden, red and orange hues provides a picture-perfect backdrop for the many exciting autumn events coming up.
Visitors will also be bedazzled by the community in Brevard and Connestee Falls. Along with our world class views, the area is renowned for its weekly events, amazing live music, and a number of festivals. This area is a must for everyone traveling through the North Carolina Mountains this fall.
One Favorite fall event for the area is the weekly Transylvania Farmers Market, which in itself is a wealth of events in one location. Who doesn’t enjoy a cool morning stroll among delicious local fruits and location and beautifully crafted wares?

Forest Festival Day and Intercollegiate Woodmen’s Meet at the Cradle of Forestry is a gathering of more ore than 80 traditional craftsmen, exhibitors, and forestry students. It includes the John G. Palmer Intercollegiate Woodsmen’s Meet: a lumberjack competition.
Heritage Day in Rosman county is a festival to remember and experience the history of the area. There will be civil war reenactments, plus Music, Food, Games, Vendors, Auction, Car Show, and River Raft Rides
The Music Mountain Mash is just one of many music festivals that the area is known for. The organizers want you to know it’s been revamped for 2014: The annual Old Time Music Competition has been revamped and enhanced for 2014…so it’s only fitting that this popular competition would garner a new name: The Mountain Music Mash.
HalloweenFest is an event the area is very proud of and takes very seriously, so don’t you miss out! We are in Transylvania County after all! This is a truly family friendly festival with a costume contest and parade, inflatables, face painting, apple/pumpkin bake-off, chili cook-off, pumpkin carving contest, trick or treat, Farmers Market, Dracula’s blood drive, the Great Pumpkin Roll down Courthouse Hill and the Flight of the Vampire 5K.
Runners can also experience Connestee Falls on foot during the annual 5k Through the Hills on October 1st. It’s a great way to kickoff the fall season.
