It has been a real joy to serve as the Connestee Falls POA Board president over the last two years. As my tenure comes to a close this week, the experience has allowed me to become even more enamored with the spirit of giving that is alive and well here in Connestee Falls. I know I speak for all our residents when I say how grateful we are to be a part of the special place that is Transylvania County and Brevard. As a community, we continue to find ways to give back as a small token of our appreciation for our hometown.
The latest effort on that front is a Back To School Face Mask Drive
scheduled for August 15th. Working with Transylvania County Schools, we will be collecting cloth mask donations from our residents for children and teachers as they make ready to head back to class in a world crisis not even imagined this time last year. I suspect many of our residents will be at their sewing machines already making masks or their computers purchasing them for the effort.
Our annual Back Packs For Brevard
drive is already scheduled for August 22. And even through the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis our annual Student Scholarship Program
is on track to once again raise thousands of dollars to help Transylvania County students realize their higher education dreams.
As a second generation Connestee Falls resident, and following in my father's footsteps as a board president many years ago, it has been my pleasure to be a small part of the big spirit that is alive and well here. Thanks to all our residents for all they do. And to all of Transylvania County and Brevard for allowing us to be a part of all that is wonderful about living here. David Hunter
