• The world-renowned Brevard Music Center is at once a beautiful place and venue, a summer music institute for high school and college musical students and home to one of the best Classical Music Festivals in the country.
• The Porter Center at Brevard College is a beautiful facility featuring exceptional acoustics. A full array of performances are scheduled throughout the year featuring orchestral, chamber, jazz, operatic and other forms of music.
• Two other major music festivals bring national talent and thousands of music lovers to Brevard every year. The White Squirrel Festival that draws thousands downtown over Memorial Day weekend with top-names in folk, blue grass and jazz music. The free event was voted Best Spring Music Fest in N.C by the Asheville Citizen Times. September features the top names in bluegrass and mountain music at the Mountain Song Festival in the Brevard Music Center, Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium.
• There is also a vibrant local music scene in Brevard with excellent musicians and bands performing in restaurants and club venues. One of the best is 185 King Street dedicated to showcasing live music in a relaxed and inviting listening room environment. Oskar Blues is major craft brewery with a great calendar featuring everything from nightly music to weekend festivals.
